Step 1: Check the Official Notification

  • Visit the India Post Vacancies page: https://www.indiapost.gov.in/vacancies

  • Look for notifications related to Staff Car Driver / Driver (Ordinary Grade) for your postal circle (e.g., Karnataka, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh).

  • Read the notification carefully to check:

    • Eligibility criteria (age, education, driving license, experience)

    • Application mode (online or offline)

    • Application fee

    • Important dates (start and end of application, exam, skill test)

      Some Driver posts are circle-specific and may not be recruited via SSC.


Step 2: Registration

  • For online applications, use the portal mentioned in the notification, usually: https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in

  • Click “New Registration” and fill in:

    • Name

    • Date of birth

    • Mobile number

    • Email ID

    • Postal circle / state you are applying for

  • You will receive a registration number and password/OTP via email or SMS


Step 3: Fill the Application Form

  • Log in with your registration credentials

  • Enter personal details, educational qualifications, and communication address

  • Choose the post: Driver (Staff Car Driver)

  • Upload scanned copies of:

    • Passport-size photograph

    • Signature

    • Educational certificates (10th pass)

    • Driving license

    • Experience certificate (if applicable)

    • Caste / category certificate (if applicable)


Step 4: Pay the Application Fee

  • Pay online via debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI

  • Typical fee:

    • General / OBC / EWS: ₹100

    • SC / ST / PwBD / Women: usually exempted

  • Keep the payment confirmation screenshot or receipt for reference


Step 5: Submit the Application

  • Review all details carefully

  • Click Final Submit

  • Take a printout or PDF copy of the submitted application and payment receipt


Step 6: Follow Up

  • Admit card and further instructions will be available on the official portal only

  • Check for:

    • Exam date (if written/online test is applicable)

    • Practical driving test schedule

    • Medical / physical fitness test schedule

    • Results / merit list
