1. Nationality / Citizenship

Candidates must be one of the following:

  • A citizen of India

  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan

  • Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India

  • Persons of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East Africa, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India


2. Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years

  • Maximum Age: Typically 27 years for General category candidates

  • Age Relaxation: As per Government of India rules:

    • SC/ST: +5 years

    • OBC: +3 years

    • PwBD: +10 years (general), +13 years (OBC), +15 years (SC/ST)

    • Ex-Servicemen: As applicable

  • Age is calculated on the closing date of application


3. Educational Qualification

  • Minimum: 10th pass (Secondary School Certificate) from a recognized board


4. Driving License & Experience

  • Valid Driving License: Must possess a heavy vehicle or staff car driving license

  • Experience: Usually 2–5 years of driving experience (especially with government or official vehicles)

  • Some notifications may require familiarity with vehicle maintenance and traffic rules


5. Other Requirements

  • Medical Fitness: Candidates must be medically and physically fit to perform driving duties

  • Documents Required:

    • Driving license

    • Educational certificates

    • Age proof

    • Caste/Category certificate (if applicable)

    • Experience certificate (if required)
