Candidates must be one of the following:
A citizen of India
A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
Persons of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East Africa, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: Typically 27 years for General category candidates
Age Relaxation: As per Government of India rules:
SC/ST: +5 years
OBC: +3 years
PwBD: +10 years (general), +13 years (OBC), +15 years (SC/ST)
Ex-Servicemen: As applicable
Age is calculated on the closing date of application
Minimum: 10th pass (Secondary School Certificate) from a recognized board
Valid Driving License: Must possess a heavy vehicle or staff car driving license
Experience: Usually 2–5 years of driving experience (especially with government or official vehicles)
Some notifications may require familiarity with vehicle maintenance and traffic rules
Medical Fitness: Candidates must be medically and physically fit to perform driving duties

Caste/Category certificate (if applicable)
Experience certificate (if required)
