To apply online for the Railway Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) Exam, follow the steps outlined below. The application process is entirely online through the official website of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB).

Steps to Apply Online for Railway ALP Exam

1. Check the Notification

  • Visit the official RRB regional website (e.g., RRB Chennai, RRB Mumbai, etc.).
  • Locate and read the ALP/Technician Recruitment Notification (e.g., CEN 01/2025).
  • Verify the eligibility criteria and other requirements.

2. Register on the RRB Website

  • Select your RRB Region (based on your location or preference).

Fill in the required details:

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Email ID
  • Mobile Number
  • Aadhaar Number (optional but recommended).

3. Fill in the Application Form

  • After successful registration, log in using your credentials (registration number and password).

Complete the application form by providing:

  • Personal details: Name, father’s/mother’s name, gender, category (SC/ST/OBC/General), etc.
  • Educational qualifications: Provide details about your 10th, ITI, or Diploma.
  • Choice of post: Select ALP or Technician, and indicate preferences for RRB regions.
  • Exam language preference: Choose a language for the exam (English, Hindi, or regional languages).

4. Upload Documents

Upload scanned copies of the following:

  • Photograph: Recent passport-sized photo (20-50 KB, JPEG format).
  • Signature: Scanned signature (10-40 KB, JPEG format).
  • Category Certificate (if applicable): SC/ST/OBC/EWS certificate in PDF format (100-150 KB).
  • Educational Qualification Certificate: 10th, ITI, or Diploma mark sheet in PDF format.

5. Pay the Application Fee

Fee Amount:

  • General/OBC: ₹500 (₹400 refundable after appearing in the CBT).
  • SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen/Women: ₹250 (refundable after appearing in the CBT).

Payment Modes:

  • Online: Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI.
  • Offline: SBI Bank Challan or Post Office Challan.

6. Verify and Submit

  • Review all the details to ensure there are no errors.
  • Submit the application form and note down the registration number for future reference.

7. Print the Application

  • After successful submission, download and print a copy of the application form for your records.

  • Application Window: Check the dates mentioned in the official notification for online registration and fee payment.
