Paper I – Computer-Based Test (CBT)

General English (100 Questions – 100 Marks)

  • Vocabulary and Word Usage

  • Sentence Correction and Error Spotting
  • Fill in the Blanks
  • Idioms and Phrases
  • Active and Passive Voice
  • Direct and Indirect Speech
  • Cloze Tests

Focus: Both sections test proficiency in Hindi and English grammar, vocabulary, and understanding of sentence structure.

Paper II – Descriptive Test

  • Type: Descriptive (Essay and Translation)
  • Mode: Offline (Pen and Paper)
  • Marks: 200
  • Duration: 2 Hours

Syllabus for Paper II

Translation

  • Translation of one passage from Hindi to English.
  • Translation of one passage from English to Hindi.

Essay Writing

  • Essay writing in Hindi and English on general or current topics to assess writing skills and grammar usage.

Focus:

  • Tests translation skills, accuracy, and ability to write effectively in both Hindi and English.
  • Evaluates grammar, vocabulary, sentence formation, and expression.

Key Highlights

  • Paper I focuses on language proficiency and grammar rules.
  • Paper II evaluates translation skills and essay writing ability in both languages.
  • Final Selection is based on combined marks from both papers.
