The IBPS RRB Office Assistant (Multipurpose) Exam Pattern is divided into two stages—Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam. There is no interview for this post, and the final selection is based solely on the Mains Exam score.

1. Preliminary Exam Pattern


Key Points:

  • Mode: Online (Computer-Based Test).
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Qualifying Stage: Candidates need to clear sectional and overall cutoffs to qualify for the Mains Exam.

2. Mains Exam Pattern


Key Points:

  • Mode: Online (Computer-Based Test).
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for wrong answers.
  • Language Option: Candidates can opt for either English or Hindi in the Language Section.
  • Final Selection: Based on Mains Exam Score + Document Verification.

3. Proficiency Test in Local Language

  • Candidates must be proficient in the local language of the state they are applying for.
  • Those who did not study the local language in their 10th or 12th standard may need to undergo a Language Proficiency Test (LPT) after the mains exam.

  • Reasoning: Puzzles, Seating Arrangements, Blood Relations, Coding-Decoding, and Syllogism.
  • Numerical Ability: Simplification, Number Series, Data Interpretation, Profit & Loss, and Time & Work.
  • General Awareness: Current Affairs, Banking Terminology, and Government Schemes.
  • English/Hindi Language: Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, and Grammar.
  • Computer Knowledge: Basics of MS Office, Internet, and Networking Fundamentals.
