The eligibility criteria for the State Bank of India (SBI) PO exam are as follows:

1. Nationality

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India or a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1962 with the intention of settling permanently in India.
  • Candidates of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and certain other countries (with specific conditions) are also eligible.

2. Age Limit

  • The candidate must be between 21 and 30 years of age as of the specified date (usually the date of registration).
  • Age relaxations are applicable as per government norms:

SC/ST candidates: 5 years

OBC candidates: 3 years

PWD (General): 10 years

PWD (OBC): 13 years

PWD (SC/ST): 15 years

Ex-Servicemen: 5 years (based on the length of service)

Other relaxations may apply as per government regulations.

3. Educational Qualification

  • The candidate must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized by the central government.
  • Candidates in the final year/semester of their graduation can also apply, but they must have completed their degree before the date of the interview (usually after the main exam).

4. Number of Attempts

The number of attempts is restricted as follows:

  • General category: 4 attempts
  • OBC category: 7 attempts
  • SC/ST category: No limit

5. Other Requirements

  • Candidates should not have any criminal record.
  • Candidates must be able to produce valid documents as proof of eligibility when asked.
