Welcome to Spardhaguru

  1. Nationality / Citizenship

    • Must be a citizen of India.

    • Usually applicable: Candidates should also satisfy domicile/residence rules of Karnataka (check notification).

  2. Educational Qualification

    • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognised university.

    • Candidates in final year may not be eligible (or must have completed degree by date specified) — always check.

  3. Age Limit

    • For general category direct candidates: roughly 21 to 30 years (in past) for many cycles.

    • For SC/ST/OBC/Reserved categories: upper age limit is higher (for example 32 years in past).

    • For in-service/ex-servicemen candidates, age relaxation is typically given.

    • Note: Some authors estimate age limit as 18-28 years for SI in Karnataka in upcoming cycles.

  4. Physical Standards / Endurance Test

    • There are minimum height, chest (for men), weight (for women) requirements. For example: height of 168 cm for men in some past notifications.

    • Endurance test / Physical Measurement Test (PST) are qualifying in nature.

  5. Service Experience (for In-service Candidates)

    • For candidates already serving (in-service), a minimum number of years’ service (such as 5 years) may be required.

Important Notes

  • These criteria vary between direct recruitment, in-service quota, ex-servicemen quota. Always check the year’s notification.

  • Even if you meet these basic criteria, you must also satisfy categories criteria (like SC/ST, OBC), local language proficiency (often Kannada), number of attempts (if any) as per notification.

  • Physical standards and endurance tests are mandatory; failure to meet those means you cannot proceed further.

  • Age is often calculated as on a specific “cut-off date” (specified in notification).
