1. For Departmental Candidates (LDCE Route)

If you are an existing employee of India Post, the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for IPO is announced internally.

      • “Inspector of Posts (IPO) Departmental Exam Notification”

  4. Alternatively, visit your Postal Circle’s official website:

    • Each circle (e.g., Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, etc.) posts its own LDCE updates.

    • Look under “Recruitment / Notifications / Departmental Exams”.

2. For Direct Entry Candidates (Through SSC CGL Exam)

If you are applying as a new candidate (not a postal employee), IPO recruitment is done through the Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) exam.

Steps to Check:

  1. Visit SSC’s official website:

  2. Go to the “Latest Notifications” or “Notice Board” section.

  3. Look for “Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL)” notification.

  4. Download the official PDF — it lists all Group B posts, including:
