Candidates must be one of the following:
A citizen of India
A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
Persons of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East Africa, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: Usually 27 years for General category candidates
Age Relaxation: As per Government of India rules:
SC/ST: +5 years
OBC: +3 years
PwBD: +10 years (general), +13 years (OBC), +15 years (SC/ST)
Ex-Servicemen: As applicable
Age is calculated on the closing date of application
Minimum Qualification: 10+2 pass (Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary) from a recognized board
Some postal circles may specify local language knowledge for PA posts
Typing / Data Entry Skills: Required in most circles
English typing: Minimum 35–40 WPM
Hindi typing: As per notification (if applicable)
Medical Fitness: Must be physically and medically fit for clerical duties
Documents Required:
Educational certificates
Age proof
Caste/category certificate (if applicable)
Typing or skill test certificate (if previously acquired)
