1. Exam Mode

  • Computer-Based Test (CBT) for most SSC MTS recruitment

  • Some circle-specific exams may be offline (pen-paper)


2. Paper / Sections


Note:
Paper I is 100 marks and usually objective type (MCQ)
Paper II (if applicable) may be qualifying in nature, e.g., typing or physical efficiency test depending on notification


3. Duration & Marking
Paper I: 90 minutes, 100 marks
Negative marking: Usually 0.25 marks for each wrong answer (check official notification)
Paper II / Skill Test: Qualifying only, marks not counted in merit

4. Selection Process
Paper I: Merit-based selection from CBT / written test
Paper II / Skill Test (if any): Qualifying
Document Verification: Confirm eligibility and certificates
Final Selection: Based on merit in Paper I and passing qualifying tests

5. Key Points
Syllabus and pattern may slightly vary for circle-specific MTS notifications
Physical tests may be included for manual/operational roles
Candidates must pass all qualifying tests to be considered for final selection
