Tier-I: Preliminary Exam (Objective)

  • Mode: Online (Computer-Based Test)
  • Duration: 1 hour (60 minutes)
  • Total Marks: 200 marks
  • Negative Marking: 0.50 marks per wrong answer

General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 Questions, 50 Marks)

  • Verbal Reasoning : Analogies, Classification, Coding-Decoding, Series, Blood Relations, Directions.
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning : Patterns, Mirror and Water Images, Paper Folding, Embedded Figures.
  • Logical Reasoning : Syllogisms, Statements & Assumptions, Puzzles, Venn Diagrams.

General Awareness (25 Questions, 50 Marks)

  • Current Affairs : National and International Events.
  • Static GK : History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Environment.
  • General Science: Biology, Physics, Chemistry.
  • Economy: Budget, Economic Terms, Inflation, Banking.
  • Important Schemes & Policies: Government Schemes.

Quantitative Aptitude (25 Questions, 50 Marks)

  • Arithmetic: Profit and Loss, Simple and Compound Interest, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Time and Work, Speed, Distance, and Time.
  • Algebra: Linear Equations, Polynomials.
  • Geometry: Triangles, Circles, Quadrilaterals.
  • Trigonometry: Heights and Distances, Basic Trigonometric Identities.
  • Data Interpretation: Bar Graphs, Pie Charts, Tables.

English Language & Comprehension (25 Questions, 50 Marks)

  • Vocabulary: Synonyms, Antonyms, One-word Substitution.
  • Grammar: Active-Passive Voice, Sentence Improvement, Error Spotting.
  • Reading Comprehension: Passages and Cloze Tests.

Tier-II: Mains Exam (Objective)

  • Mode: Online (Computer-Based Test)
  • Duration: 2 hours for each paper
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark per wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III.

Paper-IV: General Studies (Finance and Economics) (200 Marks) (For AAO posts only)

Tier-III: Descriptive Test

  • Mode: Offline (Pen-and-Paper Test)
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Total Marks: 100 marks
  • Nature: Qualifying

Tier-IV: Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test

Tests Conducted

Data Entry Speed Test (DEST)

  • For posts like Tax Assistant.
  • Requires a typing speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour.

Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)

  • For posts like Assistant Section Officer.
  • Tests skills in Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and PowerPoint.

Document Verification (DV)

  • Verification of eligibility and educational qualifications.

Key Notes

  • Tier-I and Tier-II are screening tests, and their scores determine shortlisting for further rounds.
  • Tier-III is qualifying in nature but crucial for the merit list.
  • Tier-IV is conducted only for posts requiring specific skills.
