1. Nationality

A candidate must be:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 intending to settle permanently, or
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, Vietnam, etc., with the intention of permanent settlement in India.

Note: Candidates other than Indian citizens must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

2. Age Limit (As of the cut-off date mentioned in the notification)

  • The minimum age is 18 years, and the maximum age varies between 27–32 years, depending on the post.

Specific Posts and Age Ranges:

  • Assistant Section Officer: 20–30 years.
  • Sub-Inspector (NIA): 20–30 years.
  • Tax Assistants/Accountants: 18–27 years.
  • Statistical Investigator: Up to 32 years.
  • Assistant Audit Officer: Up to 30 years.

3. Educational Qualification (As of the specified cut-off date)

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Candidates must have a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution.

Post-Specific Qualifications

1. Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer (AAO):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
  • Desirable: Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost Management Accountant (CMA), Company Secretary (CS), Master’s in Commerce, MBA (Finance), or Masters in Business Economics.

2. Junior Statistical Officer (JSO):

  • Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics as one of the subjects OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 60% marks in Mathematics at Class 12.

3. Statistical Investigator Grade-II:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/Commerce as one of the subjects.

4. All Other Posts:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.

4. Physical Standards (For Specific Posts)

Inspector (Central Excise/Preventive Officer/Examiner):

1. Height:

  • Male: 157.5 cm (Relaxable for specific regions).
  • Female: 152 cm.
  • Chest (For males): 81 cm (with expansion).
  • Weight (For females): 48 kg (relaxable for certain regions).

2. Physical Test:

  • Walking: 1 km in 20 minutes (female) and 1.6 km in 15 minutes (male).
  • Cycling: 8 km in 30 minutes (female) and 1600 meters in 8 minutes (male).

Note: Physical standards are applicable only for posts like Inspector and Sub-Inspector.
