The Railway Junior Engineer (JE) exam is conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) to recruit candidates for various technical positions in Indian Railways. Exam Purpose

The exam is conducted to fill vacancies for the following posts:

  • Junior Engineer (JE)
  • Junior Engineer (Information Technology)
  • Depot Material Superintendent (DMS)
  • Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA)

Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

a. First Stage CBT (Computer-Based Test):

  • Qualifying exam for the second stage.

b. Second Stage CBT:

  • Determines final selection, based on technical and general knowledge.

c. Document Verification and Medical Examination:

  • Candidates shortlisted after the second stage undergo document verification and a medical fitness test.

Salary and Benefits

  • Initial Pay (Basic): ₹35,400 per month (Level 6 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix).
  • Additional allowances include DA, HRA, travel allowance, etc.
