RBI Grade B

The RBI Grade B Exam Pattern consists of three phases:

1. Phase-I (Preliminary Exam)

  • Mode: Online (Objective Type)
  • Duration: 120 minutes (2 hours)
  • Total Marks: 200


Key Points:

  • Cut-off marks are set for each section and overall.
  • It is qualifying in nature, meaning marks are not counted in the final merit.
  • Candidates must clear this phase to move to Phase-II.

2. Phase-II (Main Exam)

  • Mode: Online (Objective + Descriptive)
  • Number of Papers: 3
  • Total Marks: 300
  • Duration: 270 minutes (Combined for all papers)


Key Points:

  • Paper I tests knowledge of economics, social issues, and current affairs.
  • Paper II evaluates writing skills through essays, precis, and comprehension.
  • Paper III focuses on finance, management principles, and banking awareness.
  • Marks scored in Phase-II are considered for the final selection.

3. Phase-III (Interview)

  • Marks: 75
  • Candidates are assessed on: Communication skills, Subject knowledge, Awareness of economic and financial issues
  • Interviews may be conducted in English or Hindi based on the candidate's preference.

4. Final Selection

  • Based on the combined scores of Phase-II and the Interview.
  • A merit list is prepared, and candidates are selected for appointment.
