RBI Assistance


The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) specifies eligibility criteria for the Assistant Exam based on nationality, age, and educational qualification. Candidates must meet all the requirements to apply.

1. Nationality:

Indian Citizen: The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Subjects of Nepal/Bhutan or Tibetan Refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible.

Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries intending to settle in India permanently may also apply.

2. Age Limit (as on the notification date):

Minimum Age: 20 years

Maximum Age: 28 years

(Candidates must have been born between specified dates mentioned in the notification.)

Age Relaxation:

PWD (General/EWS)             10 years (up to 38 years)

PWD (OBC)                             13 years (up to 41 years)

Ex-Servicemen                     5 years (up to 33 years)

Widows/Divorced Women     10 years (up to 38 years)

3. Educational Qualification (as on the notification date):

Bachelor’s Degree: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks (Pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates).

Proficiency in Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computers is required.

Local Language Proficiency:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the local language of the state/UT applied for.
  • Candidates must pass a Language Proficiency Test (LPT) conducted after the mains exam.

4. Number of Attempts:

No specified limit on the number of attempts. Candidates can apply if they meet the age limit and eligibility criteria.

Important Notes:

  • Final-year graduates awaiting results cannot apply unless their final results are declared on or before the application closing date.
  • Candidates with integrated dual degrees should ensure they meet the required percentage.
  • Work Experience is not mandatory for this post—fresh graduates are eligible.
