RBI Assistance

The RBI Assistant Exam consists of three stages:

  • Preliminary Exam
  • Mains Exam
  • Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

1. Preliminary Exam (Objective - Online Mode)


Total Questions : 100

Total Marks : 100

Duration : 60 Minutes (1 Hour)

Negative Marking : 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Qualifying Criteria : Candidates must clear sectional as well as overall cut-off marks to qualify for the Mains Exam.

2. Mains Exam (Objective - Online Mode)


Total Questions : 200

Total Marks : 200

Duration : 135 Minutes (2 Hours 15 Minutes)

Negative Marking : 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Qualifying Criteria : Sectional and overall cut-off marks must be cleared to proceed to the next stage.

3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

  • Candidates who qualify for the Mains Exam must appear for the Language Proficiency Test in the local language of the state/UT they applied for.

Key Requirements:

  • Read, write, and speak the local language fluently.
  • Failure to clear LPT will result in disqualification, even if earlier rounds are cleared.

Key Points to Remember:

  • Final Selection is based on Mains Exam marks and qualification in LPT (no marks are assigned for LPT).
  • Preliminary Exam marks are not considered for the final merit list.
  • Start preparation early with mock tests to improve speed and accuracy.
