Candidates should hold a relevant full-time degree: e.g., B.E./B.Tech (engineering) or other graduate/PG qualifications depending on the role.
Academic performance:
Many drives require 60% or above in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation.
Some recent drives raise it to 75% or equivalent in each level (10th, 12th, UG) for engineering freshers.
Streams/Branches: For engineering roles often branches like CSE, IT, ECE, EN, EI, ME are eligible.
Backlogs: Typically no active backlogs allowed at the time of application or at the point of joining.
Gap years: Many drives require minimal or no educational gap (between 10th → 12th → UG) for eligibility.
Batch year: Only recent graduating batches (e.g., 2023/24/25) or those specified in the notification are eligible.
Location / role-willingness: Applicants must be willing to work in India, and sometimes any work-location/shift as required. (Implied in HCL’s “PAN India” recruitment statements)
The “75% throughout” criterion applies especially for certain “premium” tracks or highly competitive drives at HCL. Standard drives may have lower thresholds (e.g., 60%).
Eligibility for non-engineering roles (or graduate trainee roles outside core engineering) may have different/relaxed criteria.
Always check the notification for that specific drive: it will specify the required percentage, allowed branches, batch years, backlogs, gap years etc.
Even if you meet percentage/gap/backlog criteria, you must also qualify in the selection process (online test, interview) to secure the role.
