Step 1: Visit the Official Recruitment Portal

  • Go to the official India Post website: https://www.indiapost.gov.in

  • Navigate to Opportunities → Recruitment or Recruitment / Career Notifications section.

  • Look for the PA / SA recruitment notification for your postal circle (e.g., Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra).

⚠️ Note: PA/SA posts may also be filled via SSC CHSL / SSC CGL, so check SSC Official Website if recruitment is through SSC.


Step 2: Check the Notification

  • Click on the relevant notification PDF.

  • Carefully read:

    • Number of vacancies

    • Eligibility criteria (age, educational qualification, local language knowledge)

    • Application start and end dates

    • Exam pattern and syllabus

    • Application fee and mode of payment


Step 3: Registration

  • Go to the official online application portal mentioned in the notification.

  • For India Post circle-specific recruitment: https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in

  • Click “New Registration” and provide:

    • Name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID

    • Circle / state you are applying for

  • You will receive a registration number and password/OTP for login.


Step 4: Fill the Online Application Form

  • Log in with your credentials.

  • Enter personal details, educational qualifications, and communication address.

  • Choose the post(s) you are applying for – Postal Assistant and/or Sorting Assistant.

  • Upload scanned copies of:

    • Photograph (passport size)

    • Signature

    • Educational certificates

    • Caste / category certificate (if applicable)


Step 5: Pay the Application Fee

  • Pay the fee online via debit/credit card, net banking, UPI.

  • Typical fee:

    • General / OBC / EWS: ₹100

    • SC / ST / PwBD / Women: usually exempted

  • Confirm payment and take a screenshot or receipt for reference.


Step 6: Submit the Application

  • Review all the information carefully.

  • Click Final Submit.

  • Take a printout or PDF copy of the submitted application and payment receipt for your records.


Step 7: Keep Checking Updates

  • Admit cards will be released on the official portal only.

  • Keep checking for:

    • Admit card release

    • Exam dates

    • Results / merit list

    • Skill test / typing test dates (if applicable)

  • Apply only through official websites.

  • Make sure all scanned documents meet the size and format requirements.

  • Only apply to your own postal circle.

  • Keep your registration number and password safe.

  • Ensure you meet all eligibility criteria before applying.
