Candidates must be one of the following:
A citizen of India
A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East Africa, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 27 years (for General category candidates)
Age Relaxation: As per Government of India rules:
SC/ST: +5 years
OBC: +3 years
PwBD: +10 years (general), +13 years (OBC), +15 years (SC/ST)
Ex-Servicemen: As per applicable rules
Age is calculated as on the closing date of application.
Minimum: 12th Pass from a recognized board (for SSC CHSL based recruitment)
Local Language Knowledge: Must have working knowledge of the local language of the state or postal circle where you are applying
Computer Knowledge: Knowledge of operating computers is desirable (some notifications specifically mention it)
Medical Fitness: Candidates must be medically fit
Documents: Valid certificates for age, qualification, caste (if applicable), and other supporting documents
Departmental Candidates: For internal promotions (e.g., from MTS or GDS), additional service or experience requirements may apply
