1. Exam Overview (Assistant & Associate)

  • Selection Process
    Candidates undergo an online examination, followed by probable interviews or document verification, before receiving appointment.

  • Syllabus & Exam Pattern
    The test typically includes sections on:

    • Reasoning

    • Quantitative Aptitude (Numerical Ability)

    • English Language

    • General Awareness

  • Probation Period

    • Both Assistant and Associate roles have a probation period of 6 months, extendable up to another 6 months at LIC’s discretion.


2. Salary & Allowances

Assistant Role

  • Basic Pay: ₹13,980/month

  • Total Emoluments: Approx. ₹23,870/month (varies by posting location)

  • Salary scale includes structured increments over the years.

Associate Role

  • Basic Pay: ₹21,270/month

  • Total Emoluments: Approx. ₹35,960/month

  • Clear progression increments built into the pay scale.

Junior Assistant (Related)

  • Basic Pay: ₹20,000/month

  • Gross Salary: ₹32,400–₹35,200/month depending on city tier

  • In-Hand Salary: ₹30,000–₹32,800/month after PF and deductions

  • Annual CTC: ₹3.88–₹4.22 lakhs


Additional Allowances & Benefits (for both roles)

  • Dearness Allowance (DA)

  • House Rent Allowance (HRA) — Tier I: ₹4,400; Tier II: ₹3,600; Tier III: ₹3,000

  • Medical Insurance, LTC, Provident Fund (PF), Gratuity
