The RRB PCET (Physical Efficiency Cum Endurance Test) is a qualifying stage in the recruitment process for Indian Railways. 1. Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must meet the educational requirements specified for the post (e.g., Class 10th, ITI, Diploma, or equivalent).
  • The PCET is conducted after clearing the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for eligible posts.

2. Age Limit

The age limit for RRB recruitment varies based on the post but is generally:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years.
  • Maximum Age: 33 years (may vary by post).

Age Relaxation:

  • OBC: 3 years.
  • SC/ST: 5 years.
  • PWD: Additional relaxation as per government norms.

3. Physical Standards (For PCET Stage)

Candidates must meet specific physical requirements based on the nature of the job. These include:

For Male Candidates:

  • Running : Should complete 1,000 meters (1 km) run in 4 minutes 15 seconds.
  • Weight Carrying : Must lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes, without putting the weight down.

For Female Candidates:

  • Running : Should complete 800 meters run in 5 minutes.
  • Weight Carrying : Must lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes, without putting the weight down.

For PWD Candidates:

  • Persons with Disabilities (PWD) are exempt from the PCET. They must qualify for other stages like CBT and document verification.

4. Medical Fitness

Candidates must pass a medical fitness test conducted by the railway authorities to ensure they are fit for the respective job role. Some common requirements:

  • Vision Standards: Specific visual acuity standards depending on the job category.
  • General physical and mental fitness.

5. Other Criteria

  • Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
  • Document Verification: Candidates must produce valid documents, such as educational certificates, age proof, and community certificates, at the time of the PCET.
