The eligibility criteria for the Railway RPF (Railway Protection Force) Sub Inspector (SI) exam are as follows:

1. Nationality

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.

2. Educational Qualification

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) from a recognized university is required.
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of their degree are generally not eligible unless they can provide proof of passing the examination at the time of document verification.

3. Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 25 years
  • The age limit is calculated as of a specific date mentioned in the official notification.

Age Relaxation:

Category-wise relaxation in the upper age limit:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age.

Other relaxations as per government norms (e.g., for Jammu & Kashmir residents, Central Government employees, etc.).

4. Physical Standards

  • Candidates must meet the following Physical Measurement Standards (height and chest) based on gender and category:

Candidates must be physically fit and free from any medical condition that may interfere with the performance of duties.

Vision:

  • Distant vision: 6/9 without glasses (for both eyes).
  • Near vision: 0.6/0.6 without glasses (for both eyes).
  • No squint, color blindness, or night blindness.
