The SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) Exam Pattern is designed to assess candidates' abilities across different subjects. It consists of two stages: Paper 1 (Computer-Based Test or CBT) and Paper 2 (Descriptive Paper).

1. Paper 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

  • Mode: Online (Objective-type Questions)
  • Duration: 90 minutes (1 hour 30 minutes)
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Total Marks: 300
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer



2. Paper 2: Descriptive Paper (Only for candidates shortlisted after Paper 1)

  • Mode: Pen and Paper (Offline)
  • Duration: 30 minutes
  • Total Marks: 50
  • Type: Short Essay/Letter Writing

A. The Descriptive Paper is conducted to assess candidates' writing skills in English or Hindi.

B. Topics for writing may include essays, letters, or applications related to day-to-day topics.

Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) (Only for Havaldar Posts):

For candidates applying for Havaldar positions in CBIC and CBN, the physical tests are as follows:

Male:

  • Walking: 1600 meters in 15 minutes.
  • Cycling: 8 km in 30 minutes (if applicable).

Female:

  • Walking: 1 km in 20 minutes.
  • Cycling: 3 km in 25 minutes (if applicable).

Important Notes:

  • Paper 1 is qualifying in nature, and candidates must meet the cut-off marks to be eligible for Paper 2 (Descriptive).
  • The Descriptive Paper (Paper 2) is evaluated only for those who qualify in Paper 1.
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer in Paper 1.
  • Candidates must complete both Paper 1 and Paper 2 successfully for final selection.
