The eligibility criteria for the SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) Exam are as follows:

1. Nationality/Citizenship

A candidate must be:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle permanently, or
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries intending to settle in India permanently.

(Candidates other than Indian citizens must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.)

2. Age Limit

  • For MTS Posts: 18 to 25 years (Candidates born between specified dates as mentioned in the notification).
  • For Havaldar Posts (CBIC & CBN): 18 to 27 years.

3. Educational Qualification

Minimum Qualification:

  • Must have passed Matriculation (Class 10th) or equivalent from a recognized board by the closing date of application submission.

Important Note:

  • Candidates appearing for their 10th exams are not eligible unless they have passed it before the last date of application.

4. Physical Standards (Only for Havaldar Posts)

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

Male:

  • Walking: 1600 meters in 15 minutes.
  • Cycling (if required): 8 km in 30 minutes.

Female:

  • Walking: 1 km in 20 minutes.
  • Cycling (if required): 3 km in 25 minutes.

Physical Standards Test (PST):

  • Height (Male): 157.5 cm; Female: 152 cm.
  • Chest (Male): 76 cm with expansion.
  • Weight (Female): Minimum 48 kg.

Important Notes:

  • Document Verification: Original certificates for age, education, and category must be produced during verification.
  • Candidates should ensure they meet all eligibility requirements before applying.
  • Age relaxation benefits apply only if proper certificates are provided.
  • Candidates applying for Havaldar posts must meet the physical standards and efficiency requirements in addition to the written test.
