3. Language Proficiency

  • Candidates must have knowledge of the official/local language of the state/UT in which they are applying. This will be tested during the Language Proficiency Test (LPT), which is conducted after the Main Exam.
  • Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak the local language.
  • If the candidate fails to meet this requirement, they may be disqualified.

4. Nationality

A candidate must be:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle permanently in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and other countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

5. Other Conditions

  • Ex-Servicemen: The candidate must fulfill the age relaxation criteria for ex-servicemen and must have served in the armed forces.
  • Employees of RBI: Any candidate who is already an employee of the Reserve Bank of India is not eligible to apply.
