SBI Clerk


To be eligible for the SBI Clerk (Junior Associate) examination, candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.

2. Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 28 years

Age Relaxation:

Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST): 5 years

Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years

Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

  • General/EWS: 10 years
  • OBC: 13 years
  • SC/ST: 15 years
  • Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen: Length of service in defense plus 3 years

Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially Separated from Their Husbands (Not Remarried): Up to 35 years (General/EWS), 38 years (OBC), and 40 years (SC/ST) Note: Age relaxation is as per government norms. 

3. Educational Qualification:

  • A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
  • Candidates in their final year/semester of graduation may apply provisionally, provided they can produce proof of graduation on or before the specified date.
  • Candidates with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) should ensure the date of passing is on or before the specified date.
  • Ex-servicemen with at least 15 years of service and the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificates in the Navy or Air Force are also eligible.
  • Note: There is no specific minimum percentage required in graduation to apply. 

4. Proficiency in Local Language:

  • Candidates must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in the official language of the state or union territory for which they are applying.
  • A language proficiency test may be conducted to assess this ability.

5. Number of Attempts:

There is no specified limit on the number of attempts for the SBI Clerk exam. Candidates can apply multiple times, provided they meet the age and other eligibility criteria.
