1. Nationality

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.


2. Educational Qualification

  • Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university/institution.

  • Final-year students awaiting results can also apply, but they must produce proof of qualification before the Mains Examination.

Accepted Degrees:
BA, BSc, BCom, BE, BTech, MBBS, LLB, BBA, BCA, or any recognized graduate degree.


3. Age Limit (as per category)

Age counted as on the last date mentioned in the notification.


4. Age Relaxation

  • Ex-servicemen: Additional relaxation as per government norms.

  • In-service candidates (Karnataka Govt Employees): Up to 5 years relaxation.

  • Widows / Divorced women: May claim relaxation as per category rules.


5. Number of Attempts

There is no fixed limit on the number of attempts,
but candidates must stay within the age limits applicable to their category.


6. Language & Local Requirement

  • Knowledge of Kannada language is essential.

  • Candidates must:

    • Be able to read and write Kannada, or

    • Pass a Kannada Language Test conducted by KPSC (if not studied Kannada earlier).


7. Other Key Requirements

  • Candidates must meet physical fitness standards (for specific posts like DySP, Assistant Commissioner, etc.).

  • They should have no criminal record and meet character and conduct criteria as per KPSC norms.
