The eligibility criteria for the MCA PG CET exam may vary depending on the state or institution conducting the exam. However, the general eligibility criteria are as follows:

1. Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree:

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree of a minimum of 3 years duration from a recognized university in any discipline.
  • Candidates must have studied Mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 level or during their undergraduate studies.

2. Minimum Marks Requirement

  • Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying degree.
  • For candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC), the minimum required marks are usually 45%.

3. Nationality

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens.
  • For some state-specific entrance exams, candidates may be required to fulfill domicile requirements for state quota seats.

4. Age Limit

  • There is usually no age limit for appearing in the MCA PG CET.

5. Additional Criteria

  • Final-year undergraduate students are eligible to apply, provided they submit proof of completing their degree at the time of admission.
  • Some exams, like the NIMCET (for NITs), may have additional specific criteria related to the type of undergraduate degree (e.g., B.Sc., BCA, B.E., or B.Tech).
  • Specific Notes for Certain States

Maharashtra (MAH MCA CET):

Candidates must meet the above criteria, with preference for candidates from Maharashtra for state quota.

Karnataka PGCET:

Candidates must meet domicile requirements for government seats.

Tamil Nadu (TANCET):

A bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks is mandatory, and candidates should have mathematics in 10+2 or graduation.
