Exam Overview

Salary Scale (7th Pay Commission)

Upon successful promotion to the PS Group 'B' cadre, officers are placed in the Level 8 of the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix, corresponding to the pre-revised pay scale of ₹9300–34800 with a Grade Pay of ₹4800. The initial basic pay in this level is approximately ₹47,600 per month, excluding allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA).


Career Growth Path

  1. Junior Time Scale (JTS): After serving in the PS Group 'B' cadre, officers are eligible for promotion to the Junior Time Scale of the Indian Postal Service (IPoS), Group 'A'. This is a gazetted post with a pay scale of ₹56100–177500 (Level 10 of the Pay Matrix) postalstudy.in.

  2. Senior Time Scale (STS): Further promotion leads to the Senior Time Scale, with a pay scale of ₹67700–208700 (Level 11 of the Pay Matrix) Cept Utilities.

  3. Higher Administrative Grade (HAG): The next level is the Higher Administrative Grade, with a pay scale of ₹131100–216600 (Level 13 of the Pay Matrix).

  4. Higher Administrative Grade Plus (HAG+): The final promotion is to the Higher Administrative Grade Plus, with a pay scale of ₹144200–218200 (Level 14 of the Pay Matrix)
